Wellington Botanical Gardens, Wellington CBD

The Wellington Botanical gardens established in 1844, once owned by the New Zealand company, now managed by the Wellington City Council is a huge 21.85ha and compromises a rose garden, Begonia gardens and various sculptures, water fountains, and small ponds throughout the grounds.  The ground features some of the oldest exotic trees, which grown on Druid Hill and Magpie, established in 1868.  The Gardens attract thousands of visitors a year, and has its own working beehive, as well as the new discovery garden.
